Welcome to APU Journal of Applied Technology and Innovation (1)Editorial Workflow

The JATI peer-review process is single blinded, i.e., the reviewers know who the authors of the manuscript are, but the authors do not have access to the information of who the peer-reviewers are. The following is the editorial workflow that every manuscript submitted to the JATI journal undergoes during the course of the peer-review process.

1. A manuscript is submitted to the journal by the corresponding author.

2. The Editor-in-Chief reads the manuscript and determines if it is appropriate and worthy of review. The Editor-in-Chief, also invites, one of the Associate Editors based on the subject of the manuscript, to inspect the paper.

3. The Editor-in-Chief assigns the manuscript to an Associate Editor, who oversees the review process.

4. The Associate Editor assigns the manuscript to a number (at least 2) of external reviewers, provided that no conflict of interests exists between the reviewers and the manuscript’s authors.

5. The manuscript is reviewed in accordance with the journal publication standards and requirements.

6. Based on the reviews report, the Associate Editor makes a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief.

7. After careful consideration of the reviewers’ report and Associate Editor’s recommendation, one of the following decisions will be taken by the Editor-in-Chief:

Publish unchanged: The manuscript is accepted for publication

Consider after Minor/Major Changes: The corresponding author(s) are notified to submit, within a specified time period, a revised copy of the manuscript with the required changes suggested by the reviewers and/or the Associate Editor. The author(s) should also submit 'authors response' detailing all changes made to the manuscript. In the event of minor changes, the Associate Editor will review the revised manuscript; and in the event of major changes, the revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers. The revised manuscript may be rejected, accepted as re-submitted or accepted after further changes.

Reject: In most cases, methodological and scientific concerns are the main origins of rejection. Causes of rejection will be sent to the authors to provide more chance for them for publication in other journals.

8. Only the Editor-in-Chief can approve a manuscript for publication, whereas Associate Editors recommend manuscripts for acceptance to the Editor-in-Chief.
