Meetings | Kalamazoo Alano Club (1)

AA Primary Purpose:
Alcoholics Anonymous is a Fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other Alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Al-Anon Purpose:
Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help friends and families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the 12 Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families and friends of alcoholics and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.

NA Purpose:
Narcotics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who come together for the purpose of sharing their recovery from drug abuse. NA members are working together in a spirit of unity and cooperation to carry their message of recovery. The only requirement is the desire to stop using.

ACA Purpose:
Adult Children of Alcoholicsprovides a safe, nonjudgmental environment that allows us to grieve our childhoods and conduct an honest inventory of ourselves and our family-so we may (1) Identify and heal our core trauma, (2) Experience freedom from shame and abandonment, (3) Become our own loving parents.

MA Purpose:

Marijuana Anonymousis a fellowship of people who share our experience, strength, and hope with each other that we may solve our common problem and help others to recover from marijuana addiction.

Meetings

Recovery can take many different forms and means many different things to different people. We have found that recovery is a team sport; that we cannot recover on our own. Meetings provide a space for us to grow together, share in each other's victories, andlift each other up when someone is struggling. This fact of our recovery means that even if we could recover on our own,we wouldn't want to, as one of thegreatest joys we find today is walking the path with our fellows in recovery.

Safety and inclusion at the club areof paramount importance to us. Although many of the recovery programs have broad qualifications for membership, the Club will not tolerate harassment of any kind. If unsafe behavior is observed or brought to our attention in confidence, we do have a formal process to resolve the issue in an attempt to make sure everyone feels safe at the Club. If you have such a concern, please do not hesitate to contact us!
