THE "GAMEPLAY"

As mentioned before, this game doesn't feature a whole lot of "gameplay", so let's go over some basics of how it works.

Upon starting a new game, you're able to select your Map and your Duck Packs. These are your main way to control the RNG for achievements because you don't really have any control whatsoever. The movement of the ducks is random and you cannot directly control any of them, so most of the achievements will rely on patience and luck.

MAPS

Both maps feature two connected "pools" for the ducks to move around. Each map also includes two preset "Hotspots" which act as camera locations along with a few other interactable objects (mostly radios or viewfinders).

Infinity Cool is your standard outdoor pool setup, with a slide and tube connecting both pools. This pool is ideal for trying to force interactions between ducks for certain achievements, so we'll be using this map for most of the completion.

Quacking The Ice is a lodge pool with a lower ice rink. Ducks travel back up via a gondola at timed intervals. While it's a bit more visually interesting than Infinity Cool, the layout leads to a lot of ducks becoming "stuck" down in the ice rink for extended periods of time. We'll mostly be using this map for its map-specific achievements once Infinity Cool is complete.

DUCKS

Whenever you start a new game, you'll always start with just the "Normal Duck" in the pool, with one new duck introduced every few minutes. This interval seems to increase with the number of ducks present in the pool, starting around 2 minutes but growing closer to 10 minutes over time.

These ducks are taken from whichever packs you select prior to starting the game. (You cannot change packs mid-save.) While each pack does have a rarity system for its included ducks, the game will guarantee each unique duck drops once, before dropping duplicates based on rarity. There are 3 packs of ducks available, each with varying amounts of ducks. You can view your unlocked ducks at any time via the Collection in the Pause menu, and you can also rename your ducks however you like. (You can also toggle Duck Names on/off from the Settings menu.)

The Placid Plastic Duck pack is the standard duck pack. This pack contains 46 unique ducks, all of which you'll need to collect on a single save. (The collection lists 47 ducks, but that's because the Normal Duck is placed in this collection, despite being present regardless of whatever packs are selected.)

The Ducks, Please pack contains 27 unique ducks. Many of the achievements specific to the pack revolve around interactions between certain ducks.

The Duck Addiction pack contains 25 unique ducks. Most of these achievements will actually require some "direct interaction" with several ducks. (The collection lists 27 ducks, however the Matryoshka Duck will split itself into 3 distinct ducks after spawning in.)

There is also a selection of Special ducks in the collection. These ducks are mostly map-specific with special spawn criteria, but they don't have any relevant special abilities and also don't count towards main collections. They are also omitted from the order whenever a save is reloaded and will naturally spawn / need to be spawned each game.

SAVING

You can save the game through the pause menu, with the game supporting up to 6 save files.

There is NO AUTOSAVE FUNCTION, so MAKE SURE TO SAVE THE GAME BEFORE EXITING.

The game will also present an option to save the game upon exiting to Main Menu. Just make sure to keep track of which save files are what.

Upon saving a game, the game will take note of which ducks have entered the pool and in what order. Whenever you restart the file, the game will dump all the ducks back into the pool at the central spawn point in the same order. This is helpful for getting certain ducks together for certain achievements, but doing this will also reset certain time-based elements (such as the Flamingo Floatie on Infinity Cool, the Ice Block on Quacking The Ice, and any duck abilities/statuses that change over time), so reload wisely.
