SUMMARY: Multiple summer feeding programs are being set up to ensure that children in Iberia Parish do not go hungry during the summer months. Little Zoro Baptist Church is starting a program to provide meals for youth who rely on school meals. Reverend Wilford Johnson emphasizes the importance of supporting the community, and donations of canned goods, frozen foods, snacks, and money are being requested. The program will run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the summer, serving children 18 and under. All those in need, regardless of age, are welcome to participate. The goal is to provide 250 bag lunches per day to help combat childhood hunger during the summer break.

SUMMARY: A recent study by WalletHub ranked Arkansas near the bottom for working fathers in the U.S., placing it 44th out of 50 states and the District of Columbia. The study assessed 21 indicators across four categories: economic and social well-being, work-life balance, childcare, and health. Arkansas scored poorly in economic well-being (43), work-life balance (33), childcare (32), and health (50). Challenges include high poverty rates among children and lack of insurance for men. Despite this, Arkansas offers childcare assistance for low-income families through its Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. Childcare remains a significant issue for working families.
