  • DEISLER, Edward G., of Saginaw, our beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was 91years old. Edward George Deisler, Jr. was born on May 11, 1924, to Edward G. and Bernadette (LaVeck) Deisler. He married Mary Patrice "Pat" Harden on August 28, 1948, at St. Mary's Cathedral; she preceded him in death on July 24, 2010. Ed graduated from St. Mary's High School and then attended St. Mary's College in Winona, MN. He continued his education at the University of Notre Dame where he enrolled in the V-12 Program. In 1942, Ed served with the United States Marine Corps in Saipan and Okinawa, Japan for four years. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended Wayne State University where he obtained his Mortuary Science License. Ed was a licensed funeral director for over 68 years, serving the Saginaw community. He was the President of Deisler Funeral Home from 1951 until his retirement in 1989. He was extremely proud that the Deisler Funeral Home was, and still is, the oldest funeral home in the Saginaw community founded in 1888, continues to serve the community 128 years later through his son, Thomas, a fourth generation family funeral director/owner.   • STELTER, Maureen Estelle Kathleen (Shea), of Saginaw Michigan, passed away at home surrounded by her loving husband and children following a valiant battle with cancer. She went home to spend an eternity with her Lord Jesus Christ on August 11, 2011, at the age of 62 years. Maureen was born February 21, 1949 to the late Charles J. Jr. and Marjorie E. (Keyes) Shea. She graduated from St Mary's Cathedral High School and Central Michigan University with a B.A. in Special Education and Elementary Education. She previously taught in the Saginaw City School District at Norman Westlund Child Guidance Clinic, Longstreet Elementary, The Birth Through Five Program, and was a substitute teacher for the Saginaw Township Schools at Heritage High School. She is survived by the love of her life, William J. Stelter, who she married on March 17, 1973. This union was blessed with two amazing daughters and an incredible son: Jennifer (Jason) Long and their children McKenna, Ryan, and Ethan; Shea (Steve) Lampi and their children Greyson and Jacob; and Kevin Stelter. She is also survived by her mother, Marjorie; sister, Kerry Shea King; nephew, Kevin King; and niece, Erin Brasseur (John) Dolbee.   • Dawn Delores Deisler passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Healthsource Saginaw where she lived for the last four years. She was born on January 9, 1930 to James & Gertrude Schultz Bodrie in Saginaw, Michigan. Dawn attended St. Mary’s High school in Saginaw, Michigan. During this time, she found a passion for music. In addition to learning piano from the nuns, she also loved singing for weddings at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Dawn started her career as a keyboard operator at GM for some years when she first started her family. After raising her family, she worked as a switchboard operator at Community Hospital, which is now known as Healthsource Saginaw. Dawn was very active at her church, St Thomas Aquinas. She was a Eucharistic Minister and took communion to the sick and dying at Community Hospital. She also did volunteer work at abortion alternatives and enjoyed playing bingo with the patients at Community Hospital. Dawn had a passion for arts & crafts making Christmas trees and anything else that required the use of a glue gun. She was also a good bowler, averaging 165. She will be remembered for cooking big dinners for her family during the Holidays. She also loved to go camping with her son, Scotty, in Oscoda and enjoyed Frosty’s from Wendy’s. Dawn was predeceased by her sisters Valetta Allen, Betty Quinnan, son James Deisler and grandson Kevin Oppermann.
